Incident summary
Amir Bayati was killed on Friday the 19th at 8:30 p.m. in Mehrshahr, Karaj. He was struck in the abdomen by live ammunition, and the bullet exited through his lower back. On Friday night, several plainclothes agents among the crowd on the street began signaling by throwing stones at the shutters of shops. Within seconds, tear gas and grenades were fired. Those same plainclothes agents grabbed several people from behind and tied their hands, while the others began fleeing into a nearby alley. Two people in the crowd were shot. I do not know what happened to the second person, but Amir Bayati died there that same night.
