Incident summary
That day, Mohammadreza and his twin brother were on their way home from work when they came upon the unrest. After the shooting began, they saw that some of their friends had been hit and rushed forward to pull them to safety. According to his family's account, Mohammadreza was in tears as he dragged the body of one of his friends away from danger. He also helped rescue several wounded people. During these efforts, he himself was shot. His twin brother no longer had the strength to carry him and could only pull him across the ground, hoping someone would come to help. Before anyone could reach them, security forces arrived, took his twin brother away, and left Mohammadreza lying where he had fallen. Hearing the gunfire, their father became worried and rushed toward the scene. He saw a young man lying on the ground in agony, but the officers initially would not let him come near. He pleaded, “Let me see whose child this is. The poor boy deserves help.” When he finally turned him over, he realized it was his own son. Mohammadreza was taken to Pakdasht Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries. He died in the presence of his father and his twin brother.
