Incident summary

On the night of 18 Dey, after returning from the protests, the area near our home—close to a police station—became chaotic. Somayeh was struck by a live bullet near her heart and lost consciousness. A few minutes later, she briefly regained consciousness. As we rushed her to the hospital, her head rested on my lap, and I held her hand tightly the entire way. At one point, her hand slowly went limp, and she stopped breathing. When we arrived at the hospital, the medical team tried to revive her, but she passed away in the resuscitation room. Even then, I kept waiting, hoping to hear her voice just one more time.
